Black gram

It is for ten persons.

Ingredients:

6.5 cups of water, 1.25 cups of whole black gram fully washed and cleaned,1.25 kidney beans soaked in water for forty five minutes and then drained, 200 grams of tomatoes approximately of two blanched and drained, 5grams of ginger cut into strips,6 flakes of garlic chopped, four green chilies chopped, two whole dry red chilies of, 4.5 tea spoons of salt , half tea spoon of red chili powder, and one table spoon of ghee.

Decoration:

Two table spoons of pure ghee, one small onion finely chopped, five grams of ginger chopped, and half tea spoon of red chili powder.

Procedure:

Get the pressure cooker especially Hawkins pressure cooker. Make it on high heat. Then add the black gram, then few seconds after add kidney beans, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, green chilies ,whole dry red chilies, salt, red chilies powder. Stir once fully with mild speed. Close the lid of the cooker, give the gas at high, then after few seconds make it seam, and cook for almost 45 minutes inside the pressure cooker. Then remove the cooker from the heat and then allow it cool it naturally. Then open the cooker. Bring one wood hammer and then smash mildly the dal. Now use it on low heat and wait to obtain the creamy consistency, it will be within seven to eight seconds and stir it occasionally. Remove the pressure cooker. For tempering heat the ghee in a pan for about two minutes. Then add onion and fry it till it becomes brown. Add ginger and continue frying till onion becomes the brown. Then, remove the pan from the heat, then add chili powder to taste and pour all these uniformly over the dal. Make serve it hot.
