How to fight recession – 5

All companies new or old, big or small lure you to buy their products with good campaign, attractive gifts, fabulous discounts and so on. They promise you heaven until you buy their products. No customer concern and nothing of the promised after-sales service seem visible once they part with their products. You run from dealer to dealer and from pillar to post to get the product repaired until you discard it for lack of proper servicing facilities at your centre and with the dealer also.

                                                                                                                                       

I have so many experiences to share with you in this regard, but I shall give you only one here. Usha has made a good brand name since my school days and I was in the habit of recommending this brand name to my friends and relatives. I have a grinder and mixture of the similar-make which gave me satisfactory service for about four years. Then the product developed snags and I had to search for spare parts which were not available with big dealers even. Only duplicate spare parts were available in and around big centres only and I was forced to be satisfied with mediocre spare parts only.

I have taken an oath now not to go for any product of the company cheating me as above and I have been recommending friends and relatives against the products of such companies which have given me headache. I wonder how such companies, whose names are legion, will fight out recession?

For over two months from now, I have been almost half a kilometer more for purchasing breakfast for my family. This is not because I love walking, but primarily because I like tasty food as others do like and I get it from the new canteen I have discovered and adopted of late.

                                                                                                                                   

It is not a canteen, but a food stall with first food of cook-and-eat type where I have to wait for ten to fifteen minutes to get fresh and hot food with ten to fifteen customers waiting for their turn to come before I reach there. But the disposal promising to be very speedy, I never get bored. the owner who himself would be preparing all food by himself helped by three others is so competent and capable that he performs a threesome function of greeting his customers, preparing food and serving them also. He has such a winning smile and a pleasing look that his mesmeric effect casts a spell on each and everyone visiting his shop.

I find his performance the best quality quantity and cost wise: quality-wise because the food is very tasty and palatable; quantity-wise because one plate of his food is adequate enough to fill up your belly; cost-wise because a full plate of fast food is available at rupees ten only and no where in my area all the three basic parameters have not been addressed.

The canteen owner opens his selling at about 08.00AM and closes it at 09.30AM curiously ending his one and half hours business which no other sales person does it within twelve to thirteen hours of business daily.

How to install and use the Windows XP Recovery Console

This article was inspired from Bleeping Computer “ How to install and use the Windows XP Recovery Console“  in a sign of deep respect this article was been written.

Recovery Console:According to Bleeping Computer:"The Recovery Console is a special boot up method that can be used to help fix problems that are preventing your Windows installation from properly booting up into Windows. This method allows you to access the files, format drives, disable and enable services, and other tasks from a console prompt while the operating system is not loaded. It is suggested that the Recovery Console is to only be used only after Safe mode and the other standard startup options do not work. “

Recovery console could be useful in circumstances such as the system was infected with a malware and removing yours files through safe and standard mode was failed then Recovery Console is useful in such extraordinary circumstances you might face.

This tutorial was inspired from Bleeping Computer “ How to install and use the Windows XP Recovery Console”, when searched this article on Bleeping Computerrealized that it was an wonderful article and also wanted to share with ours readers.

First you had to familiar with the DOS or the command prompt environment and it you were not then please referred this article of Bleeping Computer on Introduction to the Windows Command Prompt.

Installed the Recovery Console to your hard drive:You could use Recovery Console through running the Windows Installation disc by inserting into yours CD/DVD drive.But it was better to install the Recovery Console in yours computer itself.It hardly took only 7 megabytes of yours hard disc space and also the option was always available with you as it was installed on yours computer,as you might not know when that inevitable would reach at yours doorstep ,compelled you to clean yours computer from malwares though of course ours discussed subject Recovery Console.Please follow these steps.

1. Insert the Windows XP CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Click the Start button.
3. Click the Run menu option.
4. In the Open:    type X:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons  , where X is the drive letter for your CD reader, and press the OK button.
5. After pressing the OK button a setup window will appear similar to the one below.
6. press the Yes button to continue with the installation of the Recovery Console.
7. The setup program will then attempt to do a Dynamic Update
8. allow it to continue and then when it is finished , a dialogue box would appear press ok.
9. remove the CD from your computer.
10. After the restart, you will have the option as showed in the figure.

BIG BOSS – 3 – UPTO 23.10.09

As per our expectations, a lot of melodramatic and interludes were experienced in the Big Boss’ house followed by fake and contrived differences of the highest boring magnitude by the married couple occupying the house.

Kamal’s ascending utterances were melodramatic while his hitting Rohit with a water-filled bottle was dramatic but unnecessary. Of course, I find Kamal ‘more sinned against than sinning’ in the sense that he was out and out instigated and infuriated by the participants, especially Raju and Rohit. It was Raju who first infuriated Kamal by coming into picture as a bolt from the blue and hitting Kamal’s cheeks with fingers during his exchange with Kamal. Rohit ignited Kamal by his sarcastic comments around the dining table. Kamal’s can be said to be a reaction rather than action as his outbursts were the effects only and not the cause. However, his action of physically assaulting Rohit can hardly be justified and he has been shown the way justifiably. But the Big Boss did Kamal, the participants and the viewing public the greatest disfavor by not eliminating him the day he was called for counseling. Secondly, If the rules are uniform at the house, Raju should not have continued after physically assaulting Kamal on the cheek. Rohit should have been reprimanded for adding insults to the injury, but lawlessness and anarchy got sway over comical bliss.

The couple in the house continues to bore the spectators who are but puppets in the hands of the Big Boss which is going to be a big bore. Besides, film reviews are unnecessary and my family seldom sees this as there are so many programmes in a number of options available in the cable net-work.

Big Boss – 3 – 18.X.09

• Kamal occupies centre stage.
• Bindu is brilliant as usual.
• Bindu predicts the shape of things to come and a likely one also.
• Poonam’s worship and offerings to Lord are in good public taste, but her silence glorifies her less.
• Claudia’s participatory actions are lovable.
• Tanaj only breaks the silence, but she is far from impressive.
• Bakhtiar does not know which way he is going. He has less originality and speaks only the language of others.
• Raju seems to be running out of his comical stocks and continues to be more confused than fused. Of course, he describes an incident involving his daughter which all should know.
• Samita and Sherlyn hardly open their mouths and continue to shy away from the audience.
• Overall, the episode was boring and the viewers feel cheated in absence of any performance-oriented programme.

Taarak Mehta ka Ulta Chasma

Jetha;- funny , romantic and comical character.  

Daya;- innocent , foolish, lovable comical character , too much verbose at times.

Champak cha cha:-A self style Gandhian , a father figure in Gokul-Dham society.

Natu kaka:- Amuses with his buffoonery. Deserves more coverage.

Tapu:- Adds colour to  the Champak lala’s family as  ring leader.

Sundar:-  Possesses some comical sense.

Aiyar:- Speaks Hindi with South Indian ascent.

Bobbita jee:- Looks smiling even if  she doesn’t smile always. She is the darling of Jetha’s eyes.

Bhide:- Poses to be righteous  as a teacher ; but always goes back foot while facing Jetha.

Madhvi Bhabi:- More pleasing less comical.

Roshan and Roshan:- The couple perform all the same individually with less of variations.  they have comical acceptability. 

Dr.Hathi:-  He doesn’t have to perform comedy; his appearance itself  is comical.

Komal Bhabi:- Does nothing more than giving company to the characters. She thinks herself as a slim beauty  though she is roled two  persons into one.

Popot Lal:- Plays good supprting role as a comical character.

Abdul:- So so.

Tarak Mehta:- He doesn’t know acting but his comments towards the end of each episode synopsizes the plot. Deserves less coverage.

Anjali Tarak Mehta:- Nothing much to do except trying to become graceful.

Sonu, Goli, Gogi,etc.:- Members of Tapu Sena and nothing more.

Big Boss – 3 – 19.X.09

 

Today being the day of nomination things moved in expected lines and nothing unusual happened except that Bindu moved closure to nomination with a thin improvement of a single ballot over Sherlyn.

It seems that all participants are afraid of Bindu and Kamal and it was but natural that both were voted five and nine votes against them respectively. While Sherlyn had done nothing to merit a longer sojourn at the Big Boss’ house and Kamal’s was a repetition of earlier delirium, Bindu had done nothing to deserve a nomination except the fear factor looming large over the minds of the participants.

If the Big Boss wants a woman power to overpower her male participants this time, well, this is not the way. The game should be played on an even playing field and the most deserving, powerful and entertaining lady should come out outstandingly as Mona in Is Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao to win the crown.

This time we find males more vocal than the female participants and female participants are more subdued relying on their bench strength only bothering less for the viewers. true, we do not have a Rakhi Samanta  or a Sambhabana Seth or a Kashmira Saha this time, but we have a few familiar achievers who still have nothing to offer.

• BINDU IS THE ONLY VITAL SOURCE OF ATTRACTION AND BIG BOSS – 3 SEEMS TO BE GOING THE WAY BIG BOSS – 2 WAS GOING AS IN THE LATTER WE ONLY WAITED TO FIND RAHUL MAHAJAN ENTERTAINING.

ON THE STRATEGY ADOPTED BY PARTICIPANTS:

• BINDU IS THE BIGGEST SUCCESS WITH HIS WELL-MANNERED MOTION
• KAMAL IS IRRITATING;STILL IN THE LIME-LIGHT
• RAJU WHO WAS ENTERTAINING IN THE FIRST WEEK SEEMS TO BE LOOSING HIS STEAM TOWARDS THE FAG END OF THE SECOND WEEK.
• FEMALE PARTICIPANTS ARE NOT DOING MUCH EXCEPT SOME OF THEM BEING GLAMOROUS AT TIMES.
• THEY SEEM TO BE BECOMING CLUELESS TO THEIR ACTIVITIES.
• THEIR NUMBER IS SO BIG AS TO TOPPLE THEIR MALE RIVALS, BUT THEY ONLY MAKE A MOLE OUT OF THE SANDY HILL BY MAKING TRIVIAL MATTER AS FOOD SHARING AS THEIR MAIN ISSUE AND QUARREL OVER MATTERS OF ZERO SIGNIFICANCE.
• WE AGREE WITH BINDU THAT FEMALE PARTICIPANTS ARE NOW NINE IN NUMBER BECAUSE THEY INCLUDE WITHIN THEIR GROUP ROHIT AND BAKHTIAR ALSO. WHILE ROHIT IS IN THE ROLE OF A SPY BY STAYING WITH THE MALE GROUP AND SHARING THE SECRETS WITH THE FEMALE GROUP, BAKHTIAR HAS NO ORIGINALITY AND ALL THE SECRETS OF THE MALE GROUP ARE PASSED ON BY HIM TO THE FEMALE GROUP THROUGH TANAJ.

• I AM AT A LOSS TO UNDERSTAND THE KEY REASON BEHIND WEAKENING OF THE MALE GROUP WHICH IS LIKELY TO SUFFER MORE FOR THE LACK OF BALANCING POWER.

• BUT THE BIGGEST BOREDOM OF BIG BOSS – 3 IS ITS LACK OF CONCERN FOR THE VIEWERS BY MOVING AWAY FROM ITS BASICS TO FILM REVIEW AND FILM-PROMOTION THROUGH FILM REVIEWS BY STARS THEMSELVES WHICH WE SEE AND READ OUTSIDE WITH MORE DETAILS AND AUTHENTICITY BY FILM CRITICS.

Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) Smart Address bar shows much improvement over its predecessor IE 7 in terms of performance and control.

When you type a single character into the address bar,say “m”, you will now see only typed addresses, like http://madhabspace.blogspot.com means those blog starting with the letter “m”. Please consider screenshot 1 to experience it .

When you type two or more characters, you may see typed addresses first, followed shortly by the other results such as results from typed addresses and other local data (history and favorites by default). According to IEBlog “This is due to the fact that typed addresses are stored in the registry while history, favorites, and feeds are indexed using Windows Search. Accessing data from a small, fixed list of registry keys is quicker than querying a database such as Windows Search. ”

Turning Feeds off in the address bar by default makes it more streamlined experience.If you really like to see feeds in your address bar, you can quickly turn them back on. Just open Tools -> Internet Options -> Content tab -> AutoComplete settings.

Turning off one address bar section (ex: feeds) will increase the number of typed addresses from 5 to 12. If you decide you really just want typed addresses and turn off all the other sections, you will now see up to 25 typed addresses. Coupled with the change to turn feeds off by default, you will now see up to 12 typed addresses in the default case.

The TAB behavior function as it did in Internet Explorer 7 this means that pressing TAB allows users to cycle through each item in the address bar dropdown.

The new address bar is simply amazing , a simple Paste & Go context item like Opera & Maxthon have it is the need of the day .Shift+ENTER is  stupendous but TAB also doing exactly the same thing I mean the TAB+ENTER after highlighting the address bar.Now, we have 2 keys to do the same work !

To check whether yours Windows XP version has been activated or not , for this you can go to in yours Windows XP machine Start menu then the command (click Run) type

C:\windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a

important watch list for you is that see carefully “C:\windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe” after this command fragment line there is “blank space” then “/a”

it is important to remember for yours to make one space in between both the fragment of command and then click ok.In the window that opens you should see the message “Windows is already activated . Click OK to exit” Please watch the screenshot for more lucid understanding.

Test a TCP/IP configuration by using the ping command

 

1. To know the TCP/IP configuration of a computer, open Command Prompt, and then type ipconfig. From the display of the ipconfig command, ensure that the network adapter for the TCP/IP configuration you are testing is not in a Media disconnected state.
2. At the command prompt, ping the loopback address by typing ping 127.0.0.1.
3. Ping the IP address of the computer. Ping the IP address of the default gateway.
   If the ping command fails, verify that the default gateway IP address is correct and that the gateway (router) is operational.
4. Ping the IP address of a remote host (a host that is on a different subnet).
5. If the ping command fails, verify that the remote host IP address is correct, that the remote host is operational, and that all of the gateways (routers) between this computer and the remote host are operational.
6. Ping the IP address of the DNS server.
   If the ping command fails, verify that the DNS server IP address is correct, that the DNS server is operational, and that all of the gateways (routers) between this computer and the DNS server are operational.

• To open a command prompt, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
• Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is the most popular network protocol, and the basis for the Internet. Its routing capabilities provide maximum flexibility in an enterprise-wide network. In Windows XP TCP/IP is automatically installed. On a TCP/IP network, you must provide IP addresses to clients. The  FOSS movement which has given rise to this participative from of product development thus creating more and more prosumer, through crowd sourcing, mass culture, forums, in a single sentence it is a culture driven by masses. Prosumer  will be exactly the same manner, informing guests about new products more tilted towards technology especially software reviews, their free promotions and more informations. Even the suggestions and comments you give is a sense of crowd sourcing and prosumerism. Thus we will be involved in bringing to the market innovative real world softwares based on the collective  intelligence of us. Other than  crowd sourcing , idea creation, collative intelligence , Prosumer will be exceeding any other man-made repository of information available for good to pubic , sea of knowledge, discovery , fighting against piracy . Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials

 

Windows Defender detects and removes known spyware only. It is not designed to protect against the full breadth of malicious software, and specifically does not prevent viruses, worms, Trojans, and other malicious software from infecting your machine.

Microsoft Security Essentials will not replace Windows Defender , but if you are running Microsoft Security Essentials, you do not need to run Windows Defender.Currently Microsoft Security Essentials does not disable Windows Defender, but it should and will in a later version of the beta.

You can safely leave both applications enabled. Do not need to manually disable Windows Defender .There are 2 processes by MSE which is MsMpEng.exe and msseces.exe. With Windows Defender you are realizing that the almost same services running so in the long run MSE will disable Windows Defender.

BUT AFTER 35 TO 40 MINUTES OF HECTIC TRIAL, HE SEEMED LIKE HITTING THE JACKPOT AS INIMITABLE AND WINNING SMILE PLAYED ACROSS HIS LIPS. HE ASKED ME TO KINDLY GIVE HIM MY CELL PHONE NUMBER SO AS TO ENABLE HIM TO CONTACT ME AS THE CONSIGNMENT ARRIVED. INDEED, THE CONSIGNMENT ARRIVED ON THE THIRD DAY AND I COLLECTED THE BOOTY ON THE THIRD DAY ITSELF WITHOUT ANY EXTRA CHARGE FOR POSTAL EXPENSES WHICH THE RETAILER BORE.

THIS WAS A VERY SIMPLE MARKETING STRATEGY BY THE RETAILER WHICH FETCHED HIM A NEW CUSTOMER WHOSE FULL LOYALTY IS ASSURED FOR HIM AS I HAVE DECIDED TO STAY HIS CUSTOMER FOR EVER.
